Filing my taxes.....on my own!

It’s no secret that I’ve gone through a lot this last year. Financially it’s been a doozy. When I thought about filing my taxes this year I want to crawl into a hole. Taxes have always been incredibly intimidating to me, there are forms and numbers and then the chance that you do it all wrong and here comes the IRS with fees and letters and…..YIKES. I filed my taxes on my own when I was maybe 16 and did it for a few years with my dads help and it was easy. But you involve kids, deductions, allowances, blah blah blah and it’s basically a foreign language. If you can’t tell I translate taxes about as well as I do Chinese - not at all.

What does a girl that doesn’t speak tax do? H&R Block to the rescue #blessed 👏🏻 I checked out their online tax-prep services and not only did it seem like a breeze but I didn’t have to go into a tax office to talk to some stranger. They had plenty of options to choose from to fit any budget AND they had an online chat that was there when I had all the questions. I started filing my taxes, by myself and I wasn’t completely freaked out. I came to a point where I couldn’t figure out where to input a certain form and literally all I had to do with message the online support and boom - fixed.

Can I also just say how validating it is to be able to 1. do this on my own and 2. not have to pay a fortune for it to be done?! H&R Block has held my hand through what could’ve been a very stressful (and expensive) time and made it super simple, affordable and dare I say, enjoyable?
