What I'm loving - January edition
Never done this, let’s do something new. Let’s talk about a few things I’m loving right now. Maybe I’ll make this a monthly thing. I should really start that newsletter I’ve been trying to do for 4+ years…..
I’m loving music more than I ever have. Music feels so therapeutic to me. Some songs I think to myself, “wow, I could’ve written those lyrics.” I’m an awful singer, so I won’t be singing anything but song lyrics seem to really resonate with me. My music love is all over the map. When I’m running? Give me some ATL rap all day. I need something aggressive to run fast. At home cooking? I’m super emo, ha! Kidding, but I love anything from Kaleo to Morgan Wallen to The Avett Brothers. Maybe I’ll make a playlist and share it on Instagram eventually. Ya know, with all my free time between working full time and being a virtual learning teacher. I finally joined the real world and got myself an Alexa speaker (the Echo!) when I moved and it’s been the perfect little kitchen speaker. I love that little thing!
I’m loving Yellowstone. I asked on Instagram for show suggestions and this was hands down the #1 suggestion. Speaking of, I need to share those suggestions. But, Yellowstone. It took me a couple of episodes to get fully into it but I’m on episode 6 and I’m hooked. I aspire to be a boss like Beth. She is the real deal. The acting is so good, I so far love the storyline and I think it’s only going to get better (according to all of you!) Oh, and I watch on the Peacock app on my Apple TV. I get Peacock free through American Express, check to see if you do.
I’m loving purging my life. I’m really trying to simplify things. My closet, the things I own, all the stuff. I’m tired of feeling like I have no room. I know, I live in an apartment, it might always feel that way but I’m actually enjoying using Poshmark and getting rid of things I really don’t need. My Poshmark user name is @jesssawyerross and I am planning to continue to use that because it’s nice passing things onto a new home. I’m about to start on the kids rooms next. I just need to simplify things. Life isn’t about the stuff. For so many years I used “stuff” as a replacement for sadness or as some form of therapy. That will no longer be the case, ever, ever again.
LOVING my Ugg slippers. I’ve had them for years. My feet are always cold, is that normal? Maybe I should get that checked out. Honestly, I think I’ve had these things for about 5 years and I wear them constantly. It’s probably time to replace them, the fur on the inside is basically worn off. I know Ugg is just stupid expensive but I’m a price by wear kinda gal and these have been well worth the price tag.
During this remote work, virtual school time I’m loving Madewell sweats. If you’ve followed me on Instagram for any amount of time you know I am a Madewell superfan. I truly love everything. From shoes, bags, jeans to even the sweats….it’s truly all perfection. I’ve talked about their jeans a million times on IG, you guys are probably sick of it. I’m linking my favs so you guys can be as in love and comfy as I am.
I love my Lumi. Don’t hate cause it’s an MLM folks, this thing really cleans your face. Seriously. I would wash my face WITH A WASHCLOTH then use this thing and it would still get makeup off. I truly don’t understand the science behind it or how it even works but it cleans and it cleans well. I have had less breakouts (also, why is my face breaking out at 37) and I really think my skin looks better. I also started using the peel pads they make and I really like those too.
Last but certainly not least, I’m still loving Orangetheory. I’ve been going for over 4 years now and I have tried countless other workouts but there is still nothing like feeling like you are dying under those orange lights, ha! I started taking my health really seriously after I had Kenzie. Maybe I’ll write a blog about that whole journey too. It’s been a long journey for me to getting healthy but it’s been one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made.
Ok, that’s enough for now….until February!
xoxo
